Great emphasis was placed on light-filled spaces and a pleasant room layout when designing and furnishing the Steinbach See Chalets. The four chalets are nearly identical in construction, equally equipped to a high standard, and are being built according to the 5-star requirements set by the German Tourism Association (DTV).
The four chalets are situated on a plot of approximately 12,000 m². On two living levels, there are three bedrooms, a bathroom with a sauna, a guest WC, a large open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area, and a library. The chalets feature two balconies in the attic. From the bedroom, you can step directly outside onto the balcony and enjoy the view of the forest; from the front balcony, you can relax in Canadian chairs and gaze directly at the lake.
On the spacious terrace, you'll find the Hotspring Premium Hot Tub and a Weber charcoal grill. The beds are equipped with high-quality, back-friendly box spring mattresses, covered with a hygienic mattress protector. All beds are made up with fresh linens upon your arrival. As an additional sleeping option, the high-quality sofa bed in the library can accommodate two more people.

The living room and all bedrooms are equipped with a TV (Smart TV + satellite TV). The sofa bed is equipped with a mattress and can therefore be used as a bed. The fully automatic coffee machine is already filled with coffee beans on arrival, the firewood for the stove is ready for our guests. An electric car charging station (free to use) is right outside the front door and you can also park and charge your e-bike here.

The Spieles-Fuchs winery provides a special service for our guests by continuously restocking the wine rack in the kitchen. You can sample various types of white, rosé, and red wine. After your stay, you can conveniently transfer the cost of the consumed wine bottles directly to the winery. Of course, you are also welcome to bring your own wine.
In cooperation with a local butcher, we can stock the refrigerator with regionally sourced meat upon request. Upon arrival, a selection of meat for grilling and raclette will be ready for you.
The fir wood logs used for our log houses come from forest farmers in the Hunsrück region. Due to their slow growth in higher elevations, these long and straight-growing trees are ideal for building log homes. The special feature here is that the building material grows "right on the doorstep," eliminating long transportation routes.
Only environmentally friendly materials are used for the processing and preservation of the logs. The untreated logs have excellent biological properties and are particularly suitable for asthmatics and allergy sufferers. Environmental pollutants are bound and neutralized at the surface of the logs, and electrostatic charges are prevented.
Thanks to the natural building material wood, log houses can balance large temperature fluctuations. The logs naturally regulate humidity and indoor temperature more effectively than any air conditioning system. The exterior walls guarantee optimal insulation in winter, while in hot summer months, the low thermal conductivity of the logs keeps the interior cool. The log dimensions (average diameter of almost 40 cm) provide a larger surface area for absorbing and releasing room temperature. The log house meets the EnEV 10/2009 energy efficiency standard.
From a construction physics and engineering standpoint, log walls offer an unparalleled range of performance compared to other building materials, as they combine wall, load-bearing, support, and insulation functions into a single material. Even additional chemically produced insulation was avoided; instead, sheep wool was used between the logs for insulation. Recent studies suggest that the plant substances in wood, known as "terpenes," may have health-promoting effects.
Slate is a typical feature of the Hunsrück building culture, with large deposits found in many areas. Whether used for roofing, kitchen countertops, or windowsills, you will find plenty of slate in the Steinbach See Lodges.
