Mosel, Nahe, Saar, and Rhein surround the Hunsrück

Lake View • National Park • 560m Altitude • Dream Hiking Trails

The Steinbach See Village is located in the village of Langweiler, often referred to by the locals as the "Pearl of the Hochwald" due to its great location and views of the Steinbach Reservoir and the National Park. Here, you’ll find what most vacationers are looking for: peace and relaxation. Langweiler is a village of the type "here, the world is still in order." There are two different beer gardens, two restaurants, four playgrounds, a football field, and excellent hiking trails—among others, the European long-distance trail, the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig, passes right by the Steinbach See Village. You can start many hikes and walks directly from the village. Due to the elevation of over 600 meters, Langweiler often experiences snow in the winter.

The transport connections and location are excellent; in just a few minutes, you'll be in towns like Morbach, Idar-Oberstein, the Erbeskopf ski area, the National Park, or on the Hunsrück Heights Road, the "Hunsrück Highway," which is now a fast road. Several of the surrounding villages are also easily accessible on foot. Since the transport network in the Hunsrück is well-developed and the roads are in excellent condition (and traffic is very relaxed), you’ll find many excursion destinations right at your doorstep. For this reason, we’ve provided both the distances in kilometers and the travel times in minutes on the "Hiking Trails" and "Excursion Destinations" pages.

You’ll be surprised how centrally located you are while vacationing at the Steinbach See Village.
